No. I explained how I thought it could be done in the digest a week ago.
Waiting for software support is fine if you don't mind waiting forever.
(Hey, that'd make a good epitaph: here lies a man who waited for softtware
support).
It may or may not not be worth using in music. I'm not going to assume it's
not worth it until I've tried it. (Assuming I ever get the fp3d.exe file
that is).
"They told Christopher Columbus, that the world was flat ..."
(line from a 1930's musical song. Maybe I should sequence it up in 3D?)

FP3D will be available for download on the Gravis BBS sometime in June ($10).
I still need to write the program to handle credit cards, and downloads.
You'll notice in the documentation someplace in the SDK I said it wouldn't be
available until sometime in June. If you need it right away you may want to
call or fax in your order to Gravis and make it to the attention of Matt
Cranfield.

Does anyone know what settings will make a Gravis Ultrasound, a Sound Blaster
original (1.5?) and a Roland MPU-401 live together?
I have the GUS using port 230, IRQ 12 and 5 for it's midi and DMA set to 7.
The Sound Blaster uses port 220, IRQ 7 and DMA 1.
The Roland MPU-401 uses port 330, IRQ 7.
I tried Sierra's KQ6 and it fails to detect my MPU-401/MT32,
the Sound Blasters TEST-SBC program fails to detect which IRQ it is using,
the GUS works fine in native mode.
I have read messages about people using a genuine SB instead of SBOS and
getting them to coexist, I'm trying to up the ante a little...
Before getting the GUS I owned a Sound Blaster and it coexisted with my
MPU-401 using the above settings.
Also in my system is a tape drive card which uses port 100, DMA 3 and IRQ 7.
I dont plan on using the tape drive with any of the sound cards and the only
cards I'd like to use together are the SB and MPU-401.
Can it be done?

In case anyone missed it last time (or before) here goes.
If you are having trouble with your Adaptec and Gusmod, try this.
Leave the SBPro at all defaults (220,7,1). Put the GUS at 210,11,7,7,5.
Move the Adaptec's int to 12. Run and unload SBOS. Now, all games will
recognize the Pro and Gusmod won't trash your SCSI.
I have all of these in my machine, and this how they get along. Ignore the
stuff for the SBPro if you don't have one, ignore the stuff for the Adaptec
if you don't have one, etc.
Sorry if this is disorganized, but I can't vi very well.

Well what do you define as the problem? From memory the Adlib sound came
out beutifully with no settings, but the digitised voices kept getting cut
off for me, this happens in a few games. Anyone know the solution?
On the whole though, Ive gotta say Im impressed with SBOS 2.08 compared
to previous versions, both with Lemmings 2 (which still works only occaisonly
for no reason) and POP2, the Adlib sound is VERY good, if anything improving
on the original

Ahem, well it was a one off clearance sale! And I was *LUCKY*, dont go
quoting that price in a hurry! Though you never know, they might just bend,
but the normal selling price is $269.00, no question.

Anyone else have this problem? I tried suggested solutions, but when I
get to the 3rd level (sand pit with stones that rise) when I go to make the
stones rise up by stepping close to them, the stones start to come out and the
computer freezes.
I've tries SBOS (latest version), 1.20, and 1.22..
It also freezes if I skip a level and go to where a big cavern wall moves..
How do I fix this?

Hello all.
This is a report from Sweden about the GUS status in our country.
I just came home from "The Computer Crossroad '93" wich is a party
held in G|teborg in Sweden. TCC this year had demo competitions for
Amiga, C64, PC and Atari. I was pleased when I saw that the soundcards
that were allowed for the PC demo competition were SBPro, SB16ASP and
GUS. Guess what the winning demo used? :-)
Triton (who won the PC competition) will release their winning demo
soon, and I will upload it to epas immediately. The demo is really
astonishing. Imagine a complete chess board in 3D with filled polygons,
rotating while the men (is that the right word?) are moving around
on the board!
I will also upload Cascada's new demo when it's released. It will
(besides GUS support and other things) contain a 3D cube with bitmap
pictures rotating on each side.
Triton has made a tracker called "FastTracker" (or something like that)
that can use 8 channels. They said that they will add GUS support soon.
At this time you can use Cascada's GUSPLAY (I will upload a new version
to epas) to listen to the result (as well as usual .MOD-songs).
It seems that GUS support are getting more and more common here in
Sweden. I don't think it will take long before all demos will have GUS
support, just because the GUS is faster than Soundblaster when playing
samples.
(I discovered that for instance an electric distorted guitar
sounds very well when you loop the last part bi-directionally. This kind
of sound is otherwise pretty hard to play a long time a still sound good.
I hope that these kind of features will be implemented in a composer of
"tracker style" soon...)
